School of Breathing explores the act of holding ground, finding a calm self amid the storm through the practice of breath. Scored for vibraphone, drum set, and synthesizer, the piece builds a rhythmic foundation that anchors the body while the ensemble, along with Albu, breathes directly into microphones, blurring the line between instrument and lungs. Breathwork becomes both subject and material: a way of steadying oneself when everything else is in motion.
